Saddled up really early Saturday morning with three other members of the Wild Bunch, Dave, Brad, & Steve, to make the 3+ hour drive to our CW Era Honeyhole. Apparently, something was right with the conditions because Eagle buttons and old silver coins were hot today. Found a Kepi Hat Button, another partial Jeff Davis Eagle Pin, and...

I found this 1854-O Seated Liberty Half Dollar (my first) plus many other cool CW Era Relics. I believe this is my oldest American coin find so far.

Had a Super day with my friends, and they did quite well also.

That's a beauty right there! Congrats. Gotta ask did you give it that small character mark on the edge :-) Happens to us all. That's a great item in beautiful condition. Best of luck out there in the future, Abe

wow that is beautiful. congrats!

Super! It may have received a couple of scratches but sure appears to have not been in circulation very long. Great detail. WTG!
Well worth the drive.

Still waiting for my first. Ground is still frozen here in wisconsin. Won't find that in a parking lot on a toboggan run. Nice fiind

I don't think so...but it is possible. My shovel has root cutting teeth on both edges and I think it would have done more damage. I was being careful too since it was the best signal I had all day. But it's still possible I contributed somehow.

Thanks,
Jim

outstanding condition, great find!

Scratched or not, Coin trackers lists this as a several hundred dollar find. To me, finding one would be a great thrill at only face value. A value of fifty one cents is a blessing imho.
Great find! God bless, Al.

Jim that thing is beautiful and in much better shape than any old coin I've found. The detail is incredible and you probably would've done more damage with that type of digging tool. I'm sure that baby rang up nice and high so it makes sense you were super careful. All the best, Abe

Super Seated half Jim, you really couldn't ask for a better dug coin. Great hunt, great finds and great friends...that's what it's all about.

Holly sheep s:censored: Batman, that looks like it came from the mint yesterday, congrats!

She is a beauty ! Congrats

Congrats! That half is in fantastic shape!

What machine and how deep was that bad boy. Was it repeatable from all sides and sound like a half ?

That has such great detail!

Totally sweet seated half!!!

Man! That one didn't pass through many hands before it was lost! Not to mention whoever lost it was probably pretty p***** off! Congrats on the awesome finds :icon_thumright:
