The hunk is very heavy(more than 5 lbs) and stepped with a square hole and a round hole. About the size of a half brick. It isn't broken with all edges being straight. Very rusty. Part of a tractor attachment is my guess. It held some sort of blade or harrow or tine in place.
The strappy whatzit seems to be tightened with a screw on the end but it has a bar across the round area with a fixed post. It would have been attached by the bar since it has the holes. Made of thickish metal. 1/8 inch maybe.
The wife dug these about a foot from each other about a half foot deep maybe less.
She said she saw a coin, maybe a Buffalo nickel but lost it before she could get it.
