Looks like someone raided grandpa's coin collect. This was found in the wood chips of a tot lot today.

It's been a long time since I've seen one of these. And the first time finding one.

I'm figuring an ole, senile prone grandpa who was looking at his lucky piece while watching the grandkids and just missed his pocket with his feeble fingers. LOL

Point well taken. Afterall, it was a clad dollar, not a Silver Eagle.

The Thrill alone, is worth way more than a dollar. That's for sure. I've only pulled a few large coins. A Dollar Casino Token, 1864 Half, a clad half. So few and far between at this point. I just love big coins. Big silver, even more so.

Nice find. 30 yrs detecting here and I've heard/read of more silver dollars being found than IKEs
