Anyone detected in NYCity or any other big city? When I was much younger, I had an aunt who lived in one of these big high rises off Central Park. It was around a 70 year old building or so. There was a big interior courtyard for residents only that could only be accessed through the building. All of the apartments, 30 something floors had windows facing this yard. It had big planter boxes and was like a small park. I went down there and detected and remember finding silver coins, pennies, earings and other things kids either tossed out the windows over the years or just fell out when people were opening the windowns or holding their heads out for air. Probably never was detected. I did the same thing at another building in Brooklyn. Anyone try this? There are publicly accessible planter boxes and places on the outside of buildings that could be checked too.

Hunted in several neighborhoods in Chicago where there were too many targets in the ground to dig, and the neighborhood just wasn't conducive to MD'ing before sunrise or very long after. There's some great sites in older, more mature neighborhoods around big cities but you just can't get much detecting done when the cops pull up and chase you away, for your own good according to them. I'd like to hit some of the old neighborhoods where it's mostly empty, but it's hard finding someone to go along to some of them. These are mostly small neighborhoods with small parks that go practically back to the origins of the town. Just seems the neighborhood prefers it's nasty image to anything new.
