Big, beautiful North American Placer!! Freakin' fantastic!!!

Unbelievable video of big North American gold nuggets + new finds, pics, videos added: a live thread, so please post your gold shots.
I'll add other videos or stills of big nuggety North American gold as I find them.

This video starts slow, but it's shot underground, so give it a while and then watch out that you don't have a freakin' heart attack!!

I hope you love looking at this as much as I did--every placer miner's dream come true. If you're a rookie, you'll get the fever bad watching this one. (To avoid any confusion, this is not my video, nor is it my clean-up, nor was I involved in any way--I found it by mistake after typing in a search word incorrectly [that's why I'd never found it before], but I sure do love it!!)

Almost 3,800 ounces in the last shot--fines are in the large plastic bags. 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle!

All the best,

Lanny

P.S. I posted it with my beginner's thread as well, but it's so great it deserves it's own place too.

Thanks for the picture!

It's amazing how gold keeps its character even after all of the severe weathering processes of Mother Nature. That's why it's always been valued. Bury it and dig it up a thousand years from now and if it's not by something that will leach a stain onto it (like iron), it will look just like it was just buried yesterday.

All the best,

Lanny

Please, keep the pictures coming guys. I know there's more out there, but if you don't want to share, I certainly understand.

All the best,

Lanny

Thanks, it does help.

It's so great to see you posting here! And, yes, you've figured it out as your following post with their pictures prove.

Thanks so much for sharing your superb gold finds on this thread, and I look forward to more as I'm sure others do as well.

All the best,

With Chlsbrns permission (many thanks to you, by the way), I'm giving the pictures of the fantastic North American gold nuggets they found on their expedition in Arizona a home here, as they truly deserve it!

"The nuggets pictured were all found within 100 yards of each other. The large one [in the top picture] is easy to find and weighs almost three troy ounces.

All the best, and thanks for letting post your pictures,

Lanny

After looking at the picture above, I just had to ask this question: Is anyone familiar with the gold history of LA county?

Please excuse my lack of understanding about the gold to be found there, but I'd love it if someone would chime in with some details. Don't worry, I'm much too far away to try to get in on the action, I'm just curious, and after all, curiosity is what got me started chasing gold in the first place. Plus, I love learning about the history of different gold areas.

All the best,

Lanny

The San Gabriel mountains have a very rich mining history. The East Fork San Gabriel river have paid the bills of many from late in the gold rush, tbru the depression, and so on. It is still a producer of easy to find fine gold in its lower stretches, and she's known to still produce nuggets to those lucrative enough to find them. I know the man holding the gold in the above pic, and i can guarantee all of that has been found by him in the last 10 years on that river, and that river alone.
