Well the fields that I hoped had been cut hadn't, so I had to go to another field that has not produced before.

I wandered the field back and forth and back and forth till I was almost at the other end of it, when the detector screamed out with a couple high pitch tones across one sweep...

Interesting I say to myself.

The first target I dug up was a buckle.

And then a V nickel, and then a barber quarter and another barber quarter and another barber quarter, well you get the idea.In the end , my hand held four barber quarters and two V nickels.

All the coins were concentrated in an area of about 30 or 40 square feet at the very most out in the middle of this 15 or so acre field.

After scouring that section of the field I started heading back to my truck.

Quite a ways away from the pockets spill I found another barber quarter and a modern dime.

I suppose persistence paid off in this case, by giving this field one more chance. Needless to say I'll be heading back.

Notice all the trash I dug up this morning too..

Excellent finds! Pretty nice looking batch of Barbers there! The one nickle looks like a 1901, whats the date on the other? Seems like the dates kind of date the spill.

Thanks,I haven't looked at the second nickel too closely, it was pretty toasted..
