Better coin find from my first area using an Etrac.

Was running a bit dry myself the last few hunts then got another silver dime last night and a handful of clad pennies. For me the fun part was the day before as I am pretty sure I figured out where they used to keep the clothesline in the one place. One tiny hole and I pulled out 8 coins 2 batteries, bottle opener, zipper, button and the spring from a clothespin. It was all clad but the whole thing was highly entertaining. Good luck to you!!

About the time you were wishing me luck today I was finding this:

I guess you gave me good luck: first silver coin I've found in over a month!

woot grats!!! I decided to try my yard again but due to the VERY high trash am doing it in small sections. So I raked the leaf remnants away then got the magnet on wheels thing from the hubby. I swear to you it pulled at LEAST 50 nails in about a 3X6 area just from the surface area alone. My poor yard lol As grass barely grows there due to being so shady, I decided I am going to clean up/strip the land/metal detect in sections then throw down more seed. Oh yes and of course right before it got too dark I got a nice tone for a spot in the roots of a lilac bush. I tried to get to it but will need to do it in daylight and not lamp light. grrr

Hope you next hunt brings you more silver !!!

I throw seed out when I'm hunting, I got a tone like that when it was almost dark and dug down and pulled out a 42 quarter...could only see it with the led light on the pinpointer!

Todays's detector finds : 1919 Mercury dime in F-VF, 1940 Dog Tax Tag in the shape of a dogs head! Aluminum "Grimland Play Coin" Old aluminum cap and 10 Wheat cents: 1920,1934,1940,1941,1941-D,1944-D,1945,1946,1951-D and 1957. Most Wheats I have found in one hunt for quite a while. Had to knock on several doors and miss out on my main prospect but finally found a modest house from the 30's and had a nice WARM day searching (about 4 hours).

Same yard, more silver and Wheat cents. Went back today got another Mercury dime, this one from 1924. Silver Washington:1959-D (beautiful condition) Another larger aluminum play coin from "Grimsland" and 5 Wheat cents the oldest being 1910 and 1919. As is often the case when metal detecting: I was on my last pass, getting ready to leave and right at the edge of the yard I found the Washington quarter. I think I have pulled around 70 coins from this yard in two days! Going to be staying in this neighborhood for a while!

hehe someone walked around that yard with a big hole in their pocket =) I just got permission to do an old CCC camp area that is mostly farm field now but a good acre is pasture with some of the foundations still visible. Of course the weather just went to crap and I am still slightly sick (curse you pollen allergies) so it may be a day or two til I can get there...but I am drooling at the idea =)

Well I'll bet there will be some nails and iron but at least with the Etrac you will know what the junk is, especially with the Quickmask screen. I bet you pick out some good stuff. Unfortunately for me several of my recent "sure-bet/drool over sites" were previously searched out really well. There is an old 2 story Victorian that I have been unable tocatch anyone at home at that is right next to the house that this thread was originally about. And I KNOW it was unsearched or not searched very well.
