In my middle Tn town workers have scraped 4-6 inches of soil off 2 softball fields form the 50s that happen to also sit on a big skirmish site held by the union but taken back by the Rebels in a bloody skirmish. Over the course of a week I have found over 20 buttons, one is a 26a confederate droop wing eagle. I also found at this site a hand full of bullets and some brass.
I also came away with a 1958d quarter, 1959d dime, 1945 war nickel, and a no date shield nickel and the plain silver cross.
I also scouted out another site about a half mile away from this place and came home with 4 rings, one is 10k (class ring) and the 925 ring and cross with the red stone in the middle. In this field I found the 2 grape shots and the nice dropped 3 ringer.
The big ring with the diamond is marked 18k plated gold and likely a fake diamond. I thought I had something really nice when I first spotted it in the plug.
After a week like this I expect to not find much for a while, for me it's seem to be really great or nothing at all.
Thanks for looking.
