Landed in the Key's once, detector ended up in San Juan, Port., got it three days later with one day left on my trip.
Flew into Indianapolis once, never saw that detector again.

When possible, send your stuff ahead of your flight with tracking, insurance, and delivery confirmation. :icon_thumleft: I'll never trust my equipment to an airline ever again. If they lose it it's not a priority to them and the process following the loss is long and frustrating.

Jack, whenever I fly I take my detector as a carry on. My suit case is not big enough to fit my ex cal coil and rod so they go in a different suitcase with my scoop. I never trusted the airline with loosing or damaging my detectors.

I recently saw a post on here about using a hard bow case for a protective carry bag for your detector. I think if you search for travel case it will come up. I would definately take it as a carry-on rather than checked luggage. Papa
