Best lead guitar player? What say you?

I'll give this guy all the credit he deserves :headbang: Angus Young :headbang: He's a human rhythm machine, just wind him up and turn him loose.Tightest band you'll ever hear. I cant stand lead guitar players that stand on stage like a zombie. They stay in one spot the entire show like theyre glued there. It makes for a very lame show. some old stuff here.

Why, Yngwie Johann Malmsteen, of course!
Who's not into shredding!

Never saw him till now.

For some reason I Thought Yngwie
was one of those Flute or Harp players
who dance around in Leotards while playing:tongue3:

Oh Yeah! Angus is probably the most UNDER rated Rock guitarist ever, but in my opinion the most intense.

Glad I got a chance to see him and the boys in 09.

This former Spirit guitarist never got the respect he deserved. Hendrix loved his style, and used to rave about him! He was definitely before his time.

Reddy Teddy, very good, for got about him......

The guys in the group "The Outlaws" were pretty damn good...Check out Green Grass, and High Tides

Are you kidding me? No one has mentioned Eddie Van Halen? He revolutionized modern guitar. If it weren't for him, Satriani, Vai, Slash etc. Wouldn't exist. The only other player to influence guitar as much as Eddie was Hendrix. Don't get me wrong I love all these guys but EVH is a legend. There's a reason his axe is in the Smithsonian.

There are so many great guitarists, all the above mentioned are deserving. I'm glad nobody forgot Yngwie or Randy Rhoads or Eddie Van Halen. I like the old stuff too so don't forget Robert Johnson, B.B. King, Chuck Berry and for all you deadheads Jerry Garcia was I think, underrated.

Eddie...yes, very worthy mention here...

My personal favorite though...another legend here in Texas...

You just can't go wrong with any of these virtuosos...no matter what your personal preference is.

But I did shed a tear when I heard Stevie Ray had died...sort of like my generation's "The Day the Music Died"...every generation has one it seems...

:headbang:

There is no doubt EVH was/is great. No doubt at all. Much better than Hendrix IN MY OPINION but Hendrix is always spoken of first. Go figure.

Anyway, diggumup mentioned Randy Rhoades. His guitar work in Mr. Crowley is one of the best riffs of all time!!!

............ and then there was Jake E. Lee :headbang:

Ozzy sure knew how to pick his axmen.

Looks like most all the big hitters have already been mentioned. Peter Frampton and his talk box deserve a spot here somewhere too I think. What happened to music? There's some good stuff out there today, but it lacks something.

nope yall got cotton in yer ears the all time top five ARE stevie ray vaughn , buddy guy ,bb king eddie van halen, kenny wayne sheppeard nuff said no more lists thpppppppppppppppppppppppp

Without a doubt, Eddie Van Halen is the greatest of all time.

Why that would have to be Junior Brown and his gut-steel.
Youtube him and sit back an listen. :headbang: :headbang:
