Before 1986 I collected wherever I could drive walk or boat to. I stay off fed and state river property. My best sites are tributary and backwater slough sites. I don't find as much stuff as the river bank collectors, but the stuff I find is older and much less competation. TVA is regionally managed, depending on the location, the game wardens hunt surface collectors like I hunt deer in North Alabama. Here in West Tennessee they stop by to see what we are finding.

yeah I've heard its tough to get a look around in some of those areas. Know some folks that hunted the area before long before they got serious about relic hunters.
