The picture you found is a good match IMO. :icon_thumright: Its the closect match so far. I just cant imagine the official USN using a non fouled anchor. I will try to find it in your link.

I read all I could find on the stylized USN logo (and there are several varieties), and it appears to have been used only by companies contracted to supplying tableware, glassware, flatware, candlesticks, lamps, and other "convenience" items for the Navy. I did not find any reference to it being used as an official logo by the Navy on their own issued items (buttons, belts, pins, badges). The date range of the stylized logo does seem to be from 1850's to late 1890's-early 1900's. Doesn't help narrow down where your item fits into all this......

Looking at the logo on the candlesticks, both the one below as well as the one BCH linked, it appears that it could possibly be a separate medallion inserted afterwards. Would make sense if they make them for other companies and just used different medallions. Rocky's plate may be a dislodged medallion from a similar type item??

yes , I am sure you hit it on the head ..I am in the process of tracking down mfrs of this design....I will keep you posted....and thank you for all your time and info...you are the go to guy for obscure info
