I found this at an old homesite years ago but I've never been able to find info on how to put a timeframe on it. Any help would be great.

That would be awesome if it was one!! How do you date them? Not much War of 1812 stuff here in Indiana but you never know what the next beep will be lol.

With the lead from Hbot37 I was looking at cross shoulder belt plates and I must say they look close.

Depending on its size it could be a Regulation 1808 pattern Enlisted Mans Shoulder Belt plate ca. 1808-1814 if it measures very close to 61 x 87 mm.
If it measures 53 x 71 mm it would be an 1808 pattern but it would date from ca. 1820-1833. There is also one from the same time period that measures 49 x 70 mm.

I'm still shocked at it being military and it's age. Never dreamed I would've found as much military stuff here in Indiana as I have when I started swinging!!! This hobby is the best!!!!!!!!!
