Belt buckle

I found this at an old house site from the 1700's and I think that it may be some kind of belt buckle. I have also found from this site some buttons from the war of 1812.

Looks like a late 1800's sash buckle

now I can see it I agree it looks Victorian Egyptian revival, but we nee to see the reverse as well?
