Over the last few months, I've been hunting mid 1800 sites. Here is a group of buttons I've found. Also a small lead ball, not sure? The broken white thing, I'm guessing a broken pipe. image.jpgimage.jpg
Most sites have been hunted before, I was still able to pick up some random things. Here's some silver ware that I've found. image.jpg
1 shoe buckle and some other type buckles.image.jpg
Also some other random finds. image.jpgI also found 2 locks.image.jpgit been a lot of fun. HH.

Those are some great finds. Broken piece to the bowl of a pipe is what I'm thinking and the little round ball is possibly from a pistol.

Above the nail and bell I believe is part of a two piece buckle.

You've definitely gotten some good stuff so far this year Tony. The finds are starting to accumulate. I can't wait to get back to that site we hunted for less than an hour this week. I can definitely see a few old coins and artifacts turning up at that site. Keep up the good work.

What maker marks are on the back of the silverware? Most of these finds are from more earlier 19th/late 18th C.

Curtisville mfc -#1 next spoon nothing on it. Fork-Rogers cuillry? Next spoon -extra coin silver plate and the last spoon- Hartford silver metal. That's all a see on them. I don't thing that everything found is old. I don't know when these sites were active with people. Been around in the mid 1800s but might have still been around in the 1900s. All this stuff was found at the same few sites.

Nice assortment of finds! I agree with HutSiteDigger - a lot of those buttons look early 19th century from what I can see in the pictures. The silverware is definitely mid 19th century. Those sites could have been occupied for most of the 1800s.

That's some really neat stuff you found

I find a lot of those harmonica reeds too. Those are some nice old buttons.

The little round ball is probably buckshot from a .69 caliber musket ball. Good finds.

Thanks for the info, I'm new to md and I don't know how old stuff is. The sites we are finding are from an 1866 map. I live in an old area. Some sites are foundations and some still are houses.

Love those mid 1800 sites. Congratulations on the finds...
