Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Started metal detecting in June with my Ace 150. With in the first two months found a 1948 Rosie and a 1941 Mercury. Got my At pro two months ago and still haven't found a 3rd silver coin. That all changed today, found another 1941 Mercury in a park. Starting to learn the different sounds the pro makes. The more time I spend with it the more I love it. I think more silver is in my near future. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1418267614.916296.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1418267693.484721.jpg

What year are copper wheaties. I have found a lot of wheat pennies? Yes this hobbie is addictive. The hardest part is learning where to hunt

I agree! I recently moved to a new area so I am constantly on the lookout for interesting places!

Sweet. My oldest wheaties so far is 1914. I live in Virginia Beach and for some reason wheaties are abundant but so far silver is rare.

Use to live out west, wish I MD'ed back then. What part of CA

Like i say you are doing very good...silver is getting harder to find...just wait till you pull a Barber or Seated 1/2 Dollar out of the ground...just might wet yourself...i still do !
Gary

Seated 1/2 is at the top of my bucket list. Thanks for the encouragement g.a.p metal. I love this hobby

Took almost a full year to fully learn the At Pro now she sings here sweet songs for me. Congrats, hopefully you are running Pro Zero mode. If not you are not fully using the machine

Pro zero-discrimination 35.

I dont have the Pro but do have the Gold. Living in San Diego I wish I had bought the Pro instead but bought it w/intent on desert prospecting not thinking about the beaches. I've put about 60 solid hours on the Gold and have 95.00 in clad and 2 gold rings. It is VERY addictive. I have been going out on my days off everday, all day for the past 3 wks. As soon as I wake up I jump on Google Earth and look for local parks/sports fields. I've tried the beaches here but can only hit dry sand. Rather annoying esp when I see low tide... Gonna be getting an Excalibur 1000 soon so that'll be interesting. I thought about also getting the Pro but the audio of the AT is getting annoying. Getting a great deal on a used X so cant complain.

I'm in So Cal Temecula area. A ton of history in this area. Both Native American and Spanish. I haven't hit the ocean yet as I am doing a ton of research about this area. I hit a lake area last week and found a Mercury dime along with a ton of slaw and clad...I know the silver is on its way.
I'm going to go out tomorrow and play with the iron audio setting. I think it will help discriminate out the damn beer tops! 😜

Check out the videos on YouTube on using the AT Pro. I have had mine over a year and still learn things from those videos.

You should feel lucky! It took a year for my first silver. Virginia beach is very beautiful and should have plenty of places to detect. The beach itself would be a good start. I was there this summer and detected my sisters backyard. Her house only dates back to the 70s but I found a v Nickle. With all the history you never know. Good luck!

The AT Pro is my dream machine. I hope to get one some day. In the meantime I'm enjoying the ACE 250--a very solid machine. Glad you're enjoying your AT Pro.

The Ace 250 is a great machine. You will learn a lot with it!
