Another surprise and something I’ve always wanted to find. Now the question is….should I try it with modern sealing wax? Most of the early settlers on this piece of ground arrived from Barbados after that island was overrun.
Is there any way to trace these or date them?
Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!

That is a really beautiful seal of a ship.
Certainly try an impression with some sealing wax (red/coloured) it won't hurt it one bit.
For dating the seal the shape is an early one and here are some examples of them.
I would say the #10 style, and that's an early seal for this side of the pond.
Then again a seal could of been used in a family for a long period of time

Thank you for the drawings and information!

Banner vote in. What a special piece of history. Don’t see those posted very often. What type of site did you find it on? Any other finds to help date it? You got some nice feedback; hopefully someone can give you a more definitive timeframe. Congrats!
