It was a whopping 20 degrees this morning and I just had to satisfy my craving. :laughing7: I woke up at 3:10 and headed to my brother's for coffee. ;D We then had a staff meeting at the Pits at 7. Digging at 10. ;D

Zeus and I went out to search for relics that were lost centuries ago. :hello2: We decided to head to the site where I found my Colonial copper pipe last Fall. Zeus found a cuff tombac button and some musketballs. I dug a bunch of musketballs and a beautiful 1816 Coronet large cent that was cut to make small change....a half cent. ;D I also found a bunch of Colonial pottery out the ying yang. :laughing7:

It was another fun day in the Colonial fields with my uncle Zeus. We are looking forward to 2012. :coffee2:

Keep the passion high!

Kirk :hello:

Nice details! maybe one day someone will find the other half, might even be in another State somewhere.

hey that just adds character to the coin... great finds

Nice going Kirk! Glad to see you were able to squeeze in another hunt before the baby and winter arrive. Was there a lot of iron in the area where you found the pottery shards? If so, dig you some test holes to see if you can locate the trash pit. Take care and good luck ..... Bill

Sweet find on the half!

All the best,

Lanny

Hello, Bill, it is good to hear from you. I was picking up those shards near the water source. There was a lot of iron in the area as well. I will dig a Colonial pit one of these days. :icon_thumleft:

See you around the boards. Happy Holidays!

Kirk :hello:
