I know that there have been several posting on beach scoops and most people have there favorite.
I am hoping that anybody has some experience with a scoop called Ontario, it's a S.S. scoop from Europe. I have seen them on ebay.
I like the looks of it with the somewhat flat bottom. Several beaches I hunt on have sand that is only 4 or 5 inches deep. So ones that are round or "V" shape on the bottom don't work that well. On the other beaches I hunt the sand is quite thick so most scoops will work.
I hunt on the dry and wet sand mostly.
If you have used this scoop in the past or one similar what did you think of them? How good are the welds? Would they hold up in the wet sand.
I also like the U-bolts for holding the handle as it would make it easy to fix a broken handle or change from a short or long handle.

I did not post a link because I don't think that's allowed, but it is simple enough to look up.

If it has a lifetime guarentee it could be my new scoop. Plan on ordering a Stealth in the morning.

Stavr, the Indiana and the stavr scoop are built the same. I have a buddy who has one. Same gauge steel and built just as rigid if not the same. Mine has held up just as good as his. Fake?? Hardly a fake. Different company same design.

A punch or laser still gives a quality result and a rigid finish. Sorry you don't feel their could be a scoop from another company that could build a scoop just as good as your stavr.

This one the Indiana scoop or the stavr scoop are much more durable than the one you've posted. The welded stems hold up better than the welded bracket that will bend backwards from prying up wet sand.

I agree buy one with the largest holes you can find A dime is 17.9mm and get the thicker 2mm there's not much weight difference.

I want to thank everyone for your help in my scoop selection.:occasion14:

I have decided to buy/order the RTG PRO ALUMINUM 6" WATER SCOOP with SS Tip.
$135 + 19 to ship
It seemed the best all around scoop that will fit in my budget and should handle the dry and wet sand well.

Scoop of my Dreams

Custom angle Stealth 750I. Strong as an ox. Can't count the big rings that have come from holes that RTG hackers have given up on. 20" deep in soft sand? River stones? Broken coral chunks? That gold is in the bag.

Now that's a weird angle for a scoop, but no one can go wrong with a stealth !

RTG Pro Scoop

Hello,

Saw your posting in a thread concerning scoops and want to know your experience with the RTG you mentioned in this thread. Of all the scoops on the market, this one has my interest because it is (A): light, (B): aluminum and 3: relatively inexpensive. I live in Minnesota, with 10,000 fresh lake beaches to hunt.

Please tell me your likes/dislikes of the RTG scoop.
Thank you,

Cuts
