lots of regular clad ( didnt take pictures of those) but a few items am clueless on..one is that huge thing that looks like a staple? any clue what the heck that is? and this other picture..I honestly thought it was a nail..as I was rinsing it off, it twisted and low and behold its a need of some kind, more like a square shaped nail attached to one end and the other end fits nicely into it..the nail part of that is the color of aluminum or silver.. any ideas on what these are?

I believe what you have there is a quill. Like the kind you would find on top of the desk...old style though...and the feather comes up to the round thing and seals...Not the best pic...is the tip split?

And you staple I think is kind of like mine...used as a tie up for horses...hammer in and bend the tips...lots of applications of course...

Mine is old and hand made from the mid-late 1800's.
