Use the same technique down there also.

Hey nugget , I'm actually around salida at point bar. Since I'm not a gpoc or gpaa member I only have access to point bar. Will I need to stay shallow here as well?

You really can't see the real fine stuff in the bottle only the bigger stuff, some are so small you can't see them in there till you tilt it just right and the sun hits it. There's some in there that when lapping the black sand with the water in the pan the really fine stuff would float when the edge of the water just barely touched it.
Wingmaster, your photo up there of your finest piece, is about the biggest I've found. I would lose my mind if I found one of those larger fines you got.

Being a owner my self, I can say the Bazooka gold trap is by far the easiest and fasted way for me and my family to have fun while sluicing with out becoming over tired from the endless classifying of material.
When we go out to the river we used to drag lots of buckets and screens and spend half our time classifying. With the Bazooka all we have to do is shovel. Watching unclassified material flow at high speed over and into the bazooka is like watching magic happen.

thats right the bazooka has brought the fun back, its to much like work the old fashion way with a classifier. might i suggest you try and get two i would say the super prospertor and the super mini that way you can sample alot of dirt easly and go into production very quickly but if you want a reg mini i have mine up for sell 100 shipped it brand new.

12-3-12.jpg here is what i got today in three small buckets with my super mini.
total.jpg here is what i have gotten total with my Bgt and my A-52 about 50-50.

Do you think there's a difference in effectivness between the regular mini and the super mini?

I don't know the science behind it, but the different sizes to me would simply determine processing power. How much material you can move per min or hour. The thing is, the faster the water flow the more material you process regardless of the BGT size. So in a larger model you can shovel faster. The same applies to any sluice though, with the exception of water flow. Standard sluice boxes need to be tuned to the correct angle and water flow. Not to slow not to fast. In contrast the BGT appears to handle any water flow, and there is no need to tune it. As long as the water is flowing fast enough to keep the material in the trap in a state of liquefaction, then the trap will work.

well im not sure but the extra length of the super allows me to feed it fast due to it stratifies quicker than the smaller reg mini and i would assume that would be the same for the super prospetor and the reg one.I feed mine heaping scoops with a hand shovel and i can feed it as fast is i can no problem i think i emty a two gallon bucket in less than 2 min's.

? for all those that own a BGT. Since I understand you dont really have to classify, about how much material do ya'll think could be moved in one day? I got enough saved up for a Prospector model and wanna make sure I dont need anything else (having it shipped overseas)..

...a multiple of what I could do classifying and then hand feeding a sluice with a garden trowel. With the Prospector I shovel from hole directly to sluice...it is a heck of a workout so the limiting factor is my stamina.

My friend and I were just taking it easy and did hole in the bank 4 to 5 feet wide about 4 feet deep in 6 hours.

How much material can you process in 1 hour is only limited by 2 things. How much you can actually shovel, and how fast the water is flowing. I know in the river where I go, the water moves fast. So by the time I bring another shovel over it is a smooth washed surface im laying the material on to. Now if your water flow is slow you will have to wait. Once it gets to the grizzly you can add more material. Then again if you are shoveling clay, then you need to give the material time to thin out.

This is what I use when sluicing. It's my version of a fluid bed trap sluice box. I can leave the sluice in the water and clean out without disturbing my set up. Just remove the trap and dump it out into a cons bucket and get back to work. It makes for more cons to pan, but it allows peace of mind wondering if I lost anything by running too long etc.

The Bazooka Gold Trap for sure. You can process more dirt with no classifying and catch the fine gold. I found the Keene sluices, lose a lot of the fine gold we have here in Colorado. I don't even use my Keenes anymore.

Hi,

I would appreciate some help here. How do I post wilt using this quote function? I can't seem to find a posting icon anywhere.

That is a sweet setup! Did you build this from scratch or modify a bazooka?

Looks like it's a little bit Angus MacKirk and a big helping of Bazooka gold trap. I believe he should name it...The Angus MacBazooka (with CHEESE!) :laughing7:
