I have having issues finding identifying this one, I have looked through several articles about common civil war finds and this does not appear in any of them. I decided to detect a area of a of land my grandparents own in my hometown were a civil war skirmish took place at the court house. Among shot and a few grape shot balls, I found this about 5 inches in the ground. Hoping someone knows what this is.

Is that a piece to an old coal stove or later cast iron kitchen stove? My great aunt had a big stove and it had doo-dads like that on it. And welcome.

Probably what it is smokey, the skirmish happened on that street the house is on, the union had a command post at the court house, which is right up the street and they fought that whole area. The house I found it at stood there at the time, so it may be off an old stove they have.

Thanks
