Batteries

If it will be more than 30 days, also I remove them from the holder. corrosion is a beach.

Yes---I'd rather take the time to remove them than spend hours cleaning,if a battery leaked.I do this with all of my battery operated electronics not in present use.

Yes I take them out of everything until needed.

Yes. Like Holepuncher I remove mine after 30 days of downtime or if I know that will be the case.

30 days of downtime? I'd go into withdrawal, get the shakes, and have treasure hallucinations!

Alkalines - remove for sure. Good NiMH are totally ok, unless they're getting gray hairs, but I agree with the others; if you don't intend to fire it up for month or so, take 'em out. Just ask yourself if it's worth the risk!

If I'm not using one of my detectors all rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries are removed! I place them in a plastic bag and hang them on each detector. :icon_thumleft:

Yes ! Ever Since My Explorer Started turning itself on While. Lying on my Couch.

then turning itself on and off fast I started removing the battery at the end of my hunts. and Putting it in a Zip Lock.

on My Pro-pointer, I Pull my 9 Volt & Turn it Backwards In the Winter Months.

But Keep everything handy, Because the Water Company occasionally Asks me to Find Underground Valves Etc. when things Break.

Did it have a drink and/or a smoke also?

Sorry dirty old man here.

My 2 cents. Standard batteries should always be removed as they leak acid sometimes quickly when they fail. In my case I have rechargeables and leave them in for up to a month for slow periods and then take them out for a refresher charge. I have to be careful not to leave anything on or accidentally bump anything on and ideally I should remove them to eliminate such accidents. I do put spare batteries in either ziplock baggies or in the case of 9v batteries I put them in discarded plastic pill bottles.
