Hello All. I posted the thread below a few days ago and could not mark it as solved.

http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/322419-bat-wing-brass.html

On Saturday I visited the site where I found the brass pieces in the link and dug the item pictured below. Obviously the pieces I found a few days ago are part of another one of the item pictured below.

It looks like a leg to something but what...a bathtub? a table? a stove? Let me know if you have any ideas on this one. Thanks and HH.

Well, I don't know. I've tried the usual suspects plus Victorian fire screens, globe stands, vase stands, and more.
But it is a very cool piece, and you really have to go find the rest of the one you found a piece of the other day!
I sure didn't expect that from the the chunk you previously posted. Very nice!

I believe that's a table leg end. I'm just guessing by the top part where the wood may screw to it. Reminds me of a clawed foot table I have.

This is a 'claw foot' from a piece of Victorian furniture. More than likely, it came from a dining table, although the claw foot was on many furniture pieces, including side boards, servers, buffets, and the likes. If there had been a ball inside of the claw, it would be called 'ball & claw.' I've bought/sold many pieces of furniture with the claw foot.

The ball and claw and claw was also found on Chippendale as well as other furniture, but the shape of yours is more Victorian than Chippendale.

If you GOOGLE Victorian claw foot furniture, you will find a plethora of pictures and examples.

Neat find, Breezie

Thanks Breezie. I have been looking for the same model but haven't found a match yet. Mine is a bit odd because it has a more horizontal look than the ones I am seeing on the internet. Good Luck. C9

C9, Since your foot looks to be more horizontal and made from ebony wood or at least painted to look like ebony wood, it could be from a Victorian upright piano, but I don't think it is quite that flat/horizontal. It's hard to tell without seeing it in person. Judging by your pics, I think your foot came from a sideboard or a secretary. It is horizontal, but has a slight arch like the attached pic. :) Breezie

My brain must have been 'out to lunch' because I totally missed the fact the entire leg was brass. Sorry for any confusion on my part. With that being said, the leg still could have been on a larger piece of furniture like a sideboard. :) Breezie
