Went back over to the town I found my Barber half in earlier this summer, found out I been driving right by an 1885 house all summer, it was hidden by trees from the road and I finally glanced over at the right time and saw it today and was able to gain access to it.
I started at the sidewalk and went down the hill and after about 45 mins only had a few clad coins, I was wondering if this place had been detected before.
Kept going and all of a sudden get a good solid 20 and thought to myself, this could be an Indian, dig the hole and sure enough out pops a 1901 Indian!
After filling in the hole I swept a couple times and got a solid 22 which is normally junk, but I thought I would dig it as it was only three feet from where the
Indian was at. Once I dug the hole I flipped over the plug and out shoots a coin that I thought was a clad quarter, after brushing it off a bit I saw the big
One Cent, wow! a Canadian Large cent, my first one ever!!
It slowed down after that and after doing the rest of the sidehill I went back up to the house and hit the other side of the sidewalk and all of a sudden got a
solid 21, I`m thinking maybe another Indian or most likely a zinc penny.
Once I got the plug out I`m going thru it and out rolls a black clad quarter with a little bit of shine on the edge, hmmm that's odd, I carefully slide a little of the
dirt off the top and I see the eagle, another Barber!! That makes the last two silver coins I have found Barber quarters and the last four silvers Barbers, whats the odds of that!?!
I rechecked the hole, and out pops a zinc penny, guess that must of lowered the signal on the silver, strange.
Next half hour was slow again and I decided to go back down the hill and check closer to the woods this time, once I got there I immediately got a good solid 27
signal and proceeded to dig, once I got the plug out my pinpointer starts singing right away, once I zeroed in on the spot out pops a 1900 Barber dime!!
Wow, this days getting good, I no sooner fill the hole in and walk two steps and get another 27 signal, stop dig the plug and out comes an 1898 Barber dime!!!
This is unreal, it seems like a dream, but I`m not complaining, I`m gonna savor this as it probably won`t happen again for a loooooooooooong time!
