Looks like a strong XF grade to me - some might say AU. One thing is certain, that is a high grade coin for being dug up !

My thoughts exactly , Barbers & High grade are a great word combo.

I can say that I treated it like 'the holy Grail'.

That's awesome, Davers! I would have loved to see you doing the jig over that one!

LOL,
It was more like a 'Bow'.
Blessings from the ground.

Excellent Find Bud!!! :icon_thumright:

32 years ago I dug my 1st and only Barber half. An 1899 with no mint mark.

Beautiful condition yours is. Is that your 1st?

Yea Buddy .
My 1st Barber half , in 2011 or 12 , the first yard that I got the courage to ask if I could hunt , I found A Walker , A Benji , Silver Washington Quarter , Mercury Dime , a Smooth 1900 Barber Dime, Even a Dropped 69 caliber Minnie.

Boy was I fooled , thought most yards were that way. lol

Since then "O" halves not even a clad one , I avg 5-10 Silver coins a Year. That said I hunt the woods mostly.

Oh yea in 1999 I dug a Benjamin Half with a 38 caliber bullet embedded in it .

Now after 7 years of buying Common Halves for $6- $10 ; that half is my 2 ed favorite Half Dollar I have dug.
Of the 4.
Good weekend to ya .

Man, that's a beauty !!! I haven't dug a Barber Half only the dime and quarter. Congrats on the great big silver find.

The Barber Quarter is also on my ' BGIS' list. Esp, one in Fine or Better condition but will gladly dig an 'ag' example.

Beautiful coin! :occasion14:

Lol you got that right. Hey buddy I just got this in today! Yours was in excellent shape. Someone graffitied her neck, but I’ll take care of her [emoji4] IMG_2699.webpIMG_0012.webp

Look's Dang good Man.

Yours is in Very Nice Shape as well.

I'd have taken the half Worn smooth & still been Happy.

Reminds me of the only Capped Bust Dime I ever dug , it was well worn with an 'X' scratched on to both sides . Thinking it was a game piece ; Maybe???

P.S.
You gonna start Rappin Now ? Bling -Bling !!
