Barber Dime, and unidentified Medal??

Howdy got out for the first time in a week... gotn lots o' modern bullets and this dime.. but its the medal im intriqued about, I sure need help in getting it ID'd the picsa are the best I could do... on the front its 2 people standing facing eacother both have flags, there is a cross with rays around it between them and a shield below the cross, thats all i can tell... on the back is lots of letters but i cant make out what it says.. its size is between a half dollar and silver dollar... hope someone here can help id it... thanks jd

burdie I just used soap and warm water to clean up the dime some... thats one of the dirtiest silver coins I have found here in Mo. most come out of the ground clean like they were just dropped. jd
