Just found out an interesting bit of history from my area. I found this piece of metal awhile ago with a magnet, I was looking at barbed wire and it matches this one:

204B. C-235, G-340, B141, A-180, ( )
Dodge Six Point Star Barb

Single strand wire with six point sheet metal star barb. Strand is enlarged on each side of barb to prevent movement. Barbs may or may not rotate. Patent #250,219, Nov. 29, 1881 by Thomas H. Dodge of Worcester, Mass

Worcester, Ma is not far away from my town. Nice to know my random piece of metal is from 1881 ;D

Hi
Nice wire pictures. I have found Barbed wire from time to time . The last piece I found was in the center of a locus tree that I was sawing for fire wood. It was flat with one edge shaped like saw teeth with a twist. I will check up at my Dad place and see if there is any still around and take a few pictures for you.
Nice finds
Jim

Strange looking wire, never seen any like it, could be worth something if you cut it to the right length and unbent it. Try looking under one of those sites.

Your right! It is, i found a similar wire but the teeth and stuff are totally different. Its twisted too, so in that case all you would have to do is cut it and clean it ;D
