Banners

from the little I know, if you post a "find" the other members vote "banner" by clicking the (very) small BANNER button on each reply.

when I got mine it was days before I realised what everyone was talking about!! and another day before I realised they were MY coins on the web-page -

I had always thought these pictures of treasures were part of the ads that pop up so I ignored them!

I posted something funny earlier and someone said that belongs on banner

although I take it your joking.

Due to the fact some members may have security on their computer so High
they are blocked.

These pics of finds above the threads are banners

And River Rat explained well how we decide.

And is correct.

self Promotion or brutzin' for a Banner is a Kill joy,
So I personally make it harder for them to earn banners
by doubling the requirements :laughing7:

Lol I get that

Yea that sounds bad any way sounds greedy

Although TreasureNet members don't lie about their Finds.

When a Member reports their own find for Banner, it always leads to the possibilty
they may be the First one to do it. this is why more scrutiny is needed.

plus it's like tv & movie stars nominating themselves for best actress, or actor :tongue3: all ego.

& remember if you look up on the banner & see something you just pulled out the ground Too. don't think that's automatically banner worthy. We don't want to see 2 of them up there side by side :BangHead:

I agree better to be humble and let someone else banner it then you

I don't envy you Moderators having to select the Banner worthy finds.

What we need is a Banner sub-forum where folks can post their whines about their find NOT being selected for the Banner. Think of the fun we can have agreeing or disagreeing with them :laughing7:

:laughing7: think of the :BangHead: we moderators would have, calming those people down,
who found something there are 13 of up there already, & They feel theirs
is just as worthy :( (rare ?) :tongue3:

I think the Banner bar is looking good. Lots of history up there:thumbsup:

"Nominate banner" does not appear on the top right of the OP but does on the rest of the posts in the thread. Is this because I do not have enough posts [to nominate a banner]?

Edited to add: Hmmmmm... it does appear in the OP of this thread though [but not others].

I congragulate all the banner finds thay all are awesome,i also see that some awesome things that dont make the banners,i just wish that i could find some of them myself. someday i might find the great treasure, where i hunt i hunt the old house sites and they must of not had much back in the day where im from This metal detector site shows some really nice finds in the banners and out,and i hope everyone that goes out the best of luck and remember to be safe.

p.s if you hunt the old house sites watch for the old wells and if you dont it could be your last hunt

I disagree.
A banner find should stand on it's own uniqueness. Further "forced" information is unnecessary. Most banners have a wealth of info included w post.
A green member that posts a banner find not to be heard from again, has shown his gratitude to this site by simply posting here. Not other sites.
Besides, folks not computer savy have a hard enough time posting a pic, much less staying logged in.
Will this enforced "rule" trickel to other forums?
Let the members vote on banner finds with or without forced future info.
Anyone that attains a banner find is so happy you could call 'em at home.
Peace

CincinnatiKid your welcome to disagree but that doesn't change how we will do banner finds. We have a criteria.....

Members already vote on banners, but voting is not the only criteria to make banner.
