Banks in SE WI.....know of any good ones?

Any at all? =P

Just a bit of advice to ya,

Posts like this will usually not get a response that you're looking for. If someone in Wisconsin somehow knew of a bank that ALWAYS had silver, do you think they'd post it on here for you or anyone else to go pick it up? CRH takes a lot of time and patience, and in some cases a lot of research, much like metal detecting or any other hobby. The only way to get anything out of this hobby is to get out there and spread your wings.

Hey Alpha, DD is right. Most people on this forum do not like to advertise where they CRH. I know you have just gotten started and you are working on a smaller budget than some. Maybe you could see if someone wanted to team up with you and split the gas etc. You could cover more ground with two of you. You also might want to stick to the smaller coins, the halves are a real ba$tard to master. It takes a lot of halves to be successful. That's my 2 cents worth, you can send me (2) 1909 S VDB cents for my troubles. Cheers, Jim

this hobby takes effort......get out there and look. ask questions at the bank. bake cookies for tellers. do the legwork like we all do. things have been gettin blown up over the past few months i doubt anyone is gonna say much of anything. no offense man.

I feel your pain brother. As a newbie also I've emailed several sucessful CRHers here with general questions like; are small town banks better than big city banks, are rolls better than boxes, etc. and got absolutely no replies, nothing at all, not even a GTH. It would be nice if we could stake our claims to certain areas but I know that wouldn't work. You just have to get out there and hit the banks. If there are other CRHers in your area you'll find out soon enough when you pick up a load of hand rolls with big black X's on them or machine rolls with one end opened all ready. Good luck

all of them. ;D

No really... you never know which bank is going to be good on any particular day as it is driven by who has recently cashed in there.

You could go to a bank in which 10 other CRHer's visit on a regular basis, but if you are the first CRHer to stop by after someone dumps something worthwhile it really doesn't matter.

That being said, some banks are nicer to work with than others. The only way to know which one(s) will work for you is to try them out.

Heck if you're in Vegas I'll not only tell you which casinos to hunt, I'll go with you! Plenty to go around.

Slow down. I will probably swing through there next year on my way to Laughlin.

Ha, it's usually the other way around.

One of my search casinos just opened a Dunkin' Donuts. I'll save a seat for ya!

I would need a park bench instead of a seat. I can't say no to the Munchkins, Jim

Thnx much for the info....

My main problem is that non of the banks i've talked to....17 banks now....sell bags of coins......only 3 sell halves.....and none of em happen to get older dollar coins (which is understandable) I'm actually about to check one with $300 in loose halves......prolly a drop but my only real option

Don't assume it is someones dumps. I've bought coin counter bags with anywhere from a few coins to over $900. Some of the larger dollar amount had a nice amount of silver because the bag had been filling up for a long time. It's been said here many times, buy all the ones you find and hope for the best. You may get skunked with someones dumps or you might find a dream bag. You'll never know unless you buy them.

I went and picked em up......looks like they were rerolled before they went to the bank.......had marks on some coins that made it seem they were at the end of the roll. Anyways not a single silver in the group......back to my bank this afternoon. ....did buy a box yesturday and got 3 silver war nickels though.....and a british 20 pence....along with 10 others from 1940-1959
