The banks are not obligated to accommodate the hobby. It is a burden on them that they tolerate to some degree.
Some banks are more accommodating than others.
Some hobbyists are more demanding than others.
When the bank's tolerance and hobbyist's expectations overlap, neither feel put out. When they don't overlap, there is a generally minor conflict and the parties either adapt or part ways. No big deal.

Private property owners and public governing bodies are not obligated to accommodate detectorists. Some are more accommodating than others. Some detectorists are more demanding than others, etc, etc,

A very good theory here. Thanks madwest, you are very throughout in the explanation. I think that everything is ruled by cause and effect. Since bank's tolerance decreases, then a collector has to be less demanding (less oftenly visit, demand lesser amounts of coin, if an accommodation or the request can not be given, a collector must suck it up). Otherwise the bank's tolerance decreases toward every collector going to that bank. It's just like TD bank or something, responded to the increased ordering and dumping. Do not push the limits too far, or one's loyalty towards you will slain.

FIGHT for them! BURN the bridge! Get SILVER when you can! Talk to the manager and DEMAND them! Are you DENYING a customer Service? Regional managers number please!!

This is how I am in Phoenix bc there are SO many banks here. Tellers hate you a majority of the time here and Im a sexy beast. All area dependant for fighting for silver. If this is in Phoenix, Im going for the jugular.
