✅ SOLVED Balls of stone

i would say it is a mill ball. these are used as a medium in a mill for grinding up various materials.i have one that is a little larger than a cue ball and it weighs 1 1/2 lbs.

I have heard of balls like these as being check valves in liquid pumps, just a thought. It looks to perfectly round to an old marble to me. Tim

I have had dozens of these at I was told were used to regulate water in sewage treatment plant. I couldn't get a straight answer as just how the worked.

A mill for grain? That would make sense. I thought it was from some kind of game like bocce

I'm going with "mill ball " to mark as solved, I can't think of any other use for a stone ball except for grinding grain or something.
