Yes, Rick and I hit the mud today and felt the sting of ice in the face. Dancing in the rain..pngThat's what detecting is all about:headbang:
It's tough to follow the likes of Oxbow, Graylock, Cru and some of the other awesome finds from this weekend but here goes....:tongue3:
While rick was killing it with the coppers I hit a patch of musket balls, even got one cut in half. I got a few coppers up myself, 2 are halfpence toasties, one Nova Scotia again very toasty, and a 1901 Canadian LC. a nice old school thimble and some other goodies.
Oh yea, a 1907 half dime and a 1777 Spanish Half Reale.

Nice little Spanish! Its always a thrill to dig Colonial silver :icon_thumleft: Look at that pile of coppers! Great hunt!

Wow, maybe next summer I break out the old divers advanced certification! I wouldn't be surprised what I might find in my area. Something to look forward to.

All you guys found some very nice interesting finds in the same weekend, now go back to work so I can try to catch up, I'm headed out after I drop my son off to work (LOL, I love this retirement thing)

Thanks Treblehunter, I was suppose to go bottle diving instead of metal detect but as you can see the weather had different plans. Oh well we got up some great goodies and had an awesome time despite the freezing rain.
I know Jersey has some fantastic areas to relic hunt underwater there is tons of history in your area and you would be amazed at what is down there waiting to be discovered. I will be posting our bottle diving finds on this forum this winter, be sure to check them out.

Thanks Digging, we had a blast and I know there is still lots to find in that field after the corn stocks are plowed under.I told Rick that I could smell a 2 reale there I just could get the coil over it. Next time for sure.:icon_thumleft:

That was a great hunt Dave. Good to see that you're catching up with Rick on the coppers. And that spanish silver is a nice bonus. Maybe a hammered is close behind .....

Looks like it was worth working through that field in the cold!

Now those are some nice recoveries. Congrats on the Spanish silver.
We're still in shorts and t-shirts down here in NC. Sorry. :tongue3:
