Not really a solo hunt, as I was with Land-Mag, but what I'm posting is just my finds.
When we plotted the finds for Day 1, we noticed a small area of the scatter which we missed. As we were gridding away from it in the opposite direction, I just wanted a short hunt to cover it, which is what this 3 hours did;

7 Roman Coins - 1 OK one
LB&SC Railway Button (I think I need this one)
2 Rose Farthings
Jetton
1916 Shilling (OTWBTTC)

Funny thing is, after yesterdays naming of the field, I got zero Bag seals....

Wow, great finds, what a hunt! Congrats

Found this on my club dig yesterday, guessing Roman but I'm struggling to gleam anymore info, can you assist?
Your finds continue to impress as always.

Whats on the reverse? It is Roman but without the obverse legend it will be tricky to pin down, but the reverse may narrow it.

Thanks for the info, I like to put a piece of paper with each coin as I archive it.
Cheers.

Yeap, Cru'dad agrees, its a circa 1st C AD As.

PS. We think it might be Nero!

Thanks guys, with the info even the most worn coin seems a bit more special.

Really like the reverse of the Follis. Or is it an Antonian lost his silver wash? :icon_thumleft:

Not a common reverse. :icon_thumright: Most i know have soldiers spearing someone....
Yeap, the Emperor on boat with Victory steering is not one we get that often.

That Magnentius Fel Temp galley is a nice coin, looks like it survived with much better surfaces than its less fortunate compatriots. Do you ever clean coins under magnification with fine tools? It would probably respond very well from the looks of the dirt crust remaining on it.

Nope, but I agree with you.
