In 1997 I found this at the site of an old church campground in central Kentucky which dates back to 1890. It's metal, gray or gray-coated and I can't tell if it;s shaped, broken off or it just happened to come out that way. Has some weight to it, definitely. Lead possibly? Lead molten together by a fire? No clue really-- at one point I considered the possibility it's a meteorite. I'm just hoping someone has come across something similar and has been able to identify it. First pic shows it next to a penny to give you an idea of size.

Magnet checked it? Unlikely to be meteor is my guess, they tend to rust and or have fusion coating and pitting like finger dents. Have you tried a scrape on ceramic and test with acid , supposedly can tell if is aluminum or silver then from how acid reacts. Usually lead is soft and silver or aluminum melted is hard.

Haven't magnet tested it, but I guess I should. I would think aluminum would be fairly lightweight while this feels dense and heavy. But maybe a lot of fused/melted together aluminum does get heavy? Not sure.

looks like it could be lead, can you scratch it easily?

Lead used to be used for a lot of things, and is somewhat common around old sites.

Lead tends to get some white powder sorta like chalk on the out side if its been in the ground a good while. I would try scrape the mystery item on some white ceramic and then take some known piece of aluminum and make a scrap next to it and compare the color also maybe scrape a bit of silver and compare colors with a loupe. Could be helpful doing that, beyond that acid testing should give some more information.
