Badge origin

Hi guys, anyone have any clue as to which army or country this badge belongs to? It has some folded pins on the back for attaching it to something. No lettering anywhere.
Found in Slovenia, so I'm guessing maybe Austrian or Italian. Just wanted to see if anyone recognized it.

Edit: Added pictures with scale. Not sure about the material, the back looks like it could be lead, but cannot say for sure.

I'm trying to determine the age of the piece, with that info we might be able to figure it out for you.

Is it stamped brass or cast?

The back looks to be lead filled and it's more than likely to be stamped brass.

I'm thinking it's a horse rosette, date wise probably mid-late 19thc.
I don't think it's military, probably heraldry.

Wow! Thanks for that great insight, I would have never thought. Thanks for the definition of Heraldry too. Now that you mention it, I imagine a military badge would have some writing or other markings.

Agreed its a late 18th C- 19th C Horse Harness Mount.
