Not a personal find. But I could hear the walking on water excitement in his voice when I got the call that afternoon. Just an amazing artifact.
I have not found one so I can only dream if water could support my weight.:laughing7::icon_scratch:

Looking on my iPhone I assume that's an inclusion and not patina?

That's a screamer alright!

That's an inclusion. That same site I have found some nice points but just not that old.

got a back story with that one?

What part of the country and do you know the stone type?

Lithic I have no clue, but found in North central Kentucky.

Unclemac, yes a back story to say the least. I first met him many years ago, I was doing a job and had asked the manager if he knew of anyone that collected artifacts. After two weeks of pestering the manager he said alright here is his phone number, but give me a couple of minutes to let him know a crazy dude is going to call. So I waited 2 mins and 5 seconds and made the call. which I got come on over and take a look, but I have only been doing it for three years. I got over there expecting a very small collection and was treated to a massive collection. Jaw dropped and looking at some amazing artifacts, and five hours later, I said well I need to get along. he said whens your next day off. I told him, and he said well then lets take out and make a day off it. I got to his place around 4:30 am and off we went. The first place we hit I got treated as an ugly step child with no skills for looking for artifacts. We took off in different directions. about a half hour later we met back up. and out of his mouth was ...well did ya find anything. I said nah not much just this ole point, sharks teeth and more 012.jpg which got the gall dang filtrated. I think the first word started with an "M" and the last started with a "F" That started it all back then. Over the years we always got together and went out on hunts always trying to top one another. which were two far and in between. One trip started a little bit of batter, the second place we stopped we met back up after the hunt and he said I'm on the board and hands me a broken base. Im looking at it with a puzzled look and he says oh not for that but for this and hand me a perfect Pinetree. it was about 2:00 and I had not found a thing and he says I fat and happy and its hot lets call it a day. I said dang blanked. He said I ain't walking but I will let you walk the last spot if you want and I will pick you up on the other side. about five minutes in I found this,DSCN1031.jpg and walked the rest of the field and found a base as well. turn about was fair play so I told him I am on the board at least and hand him the base. and said but not for that. It evolved and he is a great friend. with many other hunts that have followed. He told me once that anytime I want to hunt his sites feel free. I told him Man If I come down your way its not your sites I want to see. its your expression when I out do you hunting. so the call was just an extension of top that! but what a great find and happened to a good friend. all is great!

I would like to see the other side and both sides with a better close-up photo. It just doesn't scream Clovis to me.

Interesting story..I enjoyed it..I also like the title you have given this point…seems to fit the unique visual of the point and the competitive hunting/friendship you made with the finder!

Better photo would be great and it look more like a Dalton to me, but that is JMO. An hinges are not something you see a lot of on artifacts from that far North in Ky, but it could happen.

Ya know its not mine. I can just be a stand by. all i can say is he was happy. what ever it is?

I belong here

I belong every where. Most know me. I am all about artifacts. are you!it dose matter. but i will.
