Vino called in the morning and I met him at the old church where we detected for a few hours. First off, I got my Indian Head Penny that I have been looking for, Woo Woo! Check out the pic it looks like she is smiling!

Second thing was I found a very nice looking button. The last button has a flag flanked by "Ruthen Cardiff", the back is marked "Masters & Co., Cardiff", it measures 5/8" in diameter x 1/8" thick and weighs 4 grams. I don't know what it is about trying to research these buttons, but for me I just can't seem to get enough answers from Google???

Any more info on this button would be very much appreciated? Thanks in advance.
Today was also token day. First token is a South Street Arcade/642 South Street with a big A on it, Back side says "no cash value"
Second Token is a "one fare school token" Back has a "septa" in center, with "one fare school token"
Then very close together two tokens, one has a zodiac, "Aquarius"Jan 20-Feb 18, other side says, "your lucky number 365, your lucky wine, KINGS"
The other is zodiac, Virgo, Aug 23-Sept 22, "your lucky number 613, your lucky wine, KINGS"

In the same hole as the 1897 Indian was what looks like two large tokens/coins??? IDK stuck together, I have them in olive oil soaking. We will have to wait and see.
I got three Wheat pennies, 1920, 1954 D, and a 1952

I have to get a better camera!!!
Thanks again Vino, thanks everyone for looking and comments/help in IDing, HH

The button is British ... Nice batch of goodies you found! :icon_thumleft:

Nice Indian Head! Good days finds! Congratulations!

Thanks guys.

I'd like to see some close-ups of the buttons, the one with the R on it couldn't be too hard to ID. I have one similar to it that turned out to be from a Mail Ship. Since it says Cardiff on it I would suspect it is from Wales.

I'm working on a new camera right now, hopefully pix will be up shortly. Thanks for your help.

Interesting assortment of buttons you came up with! The amount of gilding left on them is great, they will shine with a mild cleaning

SAM_0002.JPGSAM_0004.JPGSAM_0005.JPGSAM_0006.JPGSAM_0007.JPGHere are those pix, I was trying to get natural light and was taking pix on screened in porch and dropped all the tokens one fell down underneath and is temporally lost again. I'm going to post all the tokens in the "token" forum. But here are all the pix anyhow.

Nice button! Nice finds! You didn't "find" a parking ticket did you?

Ha, You win the prize! Just checking to see how observant everyone is. Lol, just kidding, I rode all the way home, some places 80 mph with that ticket on my windshield. Phila. is a tuff town to park, I looked at the signs and thought it was alright. Wrong, I should have known something was up with that spot, could have parked three cars there, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. What the hell is another 30 bucks in today's economy, like a drop in the bucket.

Those coins/tokens that I was talking about (that are stuck together) I was looking at them again a little while ago and I could just make out a couple letters around the edge on one side. Some time tomorrow I'm going to look again, take some measurements, pix and weigh it and post a thread in "what is it" forum and on this thread. They/it is way bigger then a LC, at least the one I have. Its getting very interesting, probably just wishful thinking.

Don't give them ideas. They'll raise the fine next time... :sadsmiley:

I get your sarcasm even if they won't... 30 bucks is actually a pretty hard hit for a parking ticket. OUCH. :BangHead::BangHead:

Anyway, nice finds. I guess it was worth going back. You got some nice buttons there, and congrats on the IH.

Mystery coin/token ???

I just got done taking measurements, weighing, photographing that mystery item.
It weighs 16 grams
1 and five sixteens inches diameter and about a 1/8 inch thick.
Here are a mess of pix.
I have some shots with my only left facing 1810 large cent for some reference, most of those are the reverse then I flipped both items over for one shot. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. I will put all these pix on "what is it" forum also.

Thanks again for anyone's help or advise.
