I had fully intended to do a *full* day's worth of walk today. I was hoping
to be walking with someone but I'd already promised myself that whether
anyone else was available or not, I was going to do a whole day!
Anyway, just as I was getting ready to leave, I get a phone call. A friend who knew
I did this sort of stuff said that he was at a party the night before and my friend's
brother,( who was there too), had lost his wedding band in the backyard.
He said, since he KNEW I didn't *do* anything on a 65 degree, Saturday in February.
He was sure I wouldn't mind coming over to help him find it. (we both laughed)
Anyhoo, I went and MAN! WHAT TRASH!! The party at "Animal House" would be
put to shame by the amount of trash everywhere here! LOL I told him to tie a rope
around me in case he needed to pull me out! LOL
I turned the sensitivity all the way down! Notched out everything but what I figured a ring
on top might sound like and waded in and believe it or not, I found it! Took me 3 hours, but
I found it!
So much for an all day "walk", this was ANYTHING but a "walk" in a park!
Attn: Mike! It was a very good thing you had something to do this morning! LOL
I didn't accept his money but I did put the bite on him for a steak lunch! LOL
Ok...so this is not what you come here for so let me get to the rest of my day.
After leaving them I only had a few hours to hunt.
Since I was near one of my clad factories, I opted for some clad/etc.
Turned out ok though. As I was going along I got one of *those* hits.
You know, 95? In all directions? Clear, repeatable, not really deep, solid?
I've said before that I don't do "victory dances". I don't climb trees or jump
around shouting catch phrases, calling attention to myself.
But, I do a sort of dance. More of a waltz. When I get a hit like this I go into
waltzing around the target with "AT", listening to the wonderful sound! LOL
A wonderful surprise given the circumstances of the day!
Here's the rest:
The butterfly button was literally 10 feet from the car when I was OTWBTTC.
No clue.
But, it appears to be brass and very solidly built. It
is inordinately heavy for it's size! Non-magnetic.
Maybe a fuel jet of some sort?
Wonder if they make these things out of silver.
I believe Fishy has the better pick this time.
A VERY nice big chunk of sterling!
Sorry for the long post but, when one doesn't have a life,
they have to fill it up with something.
Thanks for peeking!
