All Treasure Hunting
Hello all! I am Stormy, and first I wish to thank all of you for this lovely community!

I am a fairly young (Or so I'm believing :P) woman who is incredibly interested in finding silver. I have invested a little into bullion for bartering if need be, however, as a "low income" person, and someone who is attempting to move into complete self sustainability, buying these bullion on a regular basis is a bit difficult. I found this site initially by looking how to hunt coin rolls. I found an amazing post, in which I wrote down all I could, and am about to try it out a little tomorrow. It seems pretty fun, and it seems very low risk. I am very much into preserving, and not losing the paper currency by dumping it all into pure bullion, yet.

On top of all this, I have been interested in treasure hunting for years. I've never actually used a metal detector, or actually been out and searched, but I have always wanted to do it. Not just for the value of the items that could be found, but the history of these pieces. Who touched this/wore this/owned this last?", especially the real old items.

Anyway, I think I have gone on too much! Thank you all in advance for reading my gibberish! I am always open to suggestions of any sort!

welcome aboard------:occasion14:

Welcome, what part of New England are you from. Metal detecting is very addicting once you try it :hello:

welcome stormy, have fun hunting

Awww thank you all for the warm welcomes!

New Hampshire actually! I see you are from Maine! Might I say, Maine is my heaven. The place is so beautiful.

It is certainly beautiful in the summer. We have camped a few times in the White mountains and done a little sluicing up there.....lots of fun.

:) My husband and I are actually debating on whether or not to move up to Maine. It's very similar to NH with the laws and whatnot, but the people, I always felt there was more of a "welcome to my state" attitude with Maine that NH doesn't really have. Haha! Good to meet you, neighbor!

StormyJei, good to meet you as well, the times I have been to New Hampshire the people were always welcoming to me. Probably very heavily depends where you are though. Some places in Maine can be unwelcoming as well (I am from out of state). Again really depends where you are. Where in Maine were you two thinking of moving to?

I guess there are those types everywhere haha! Well, I used to go to Wells every year for a few weeks with family, and heavily fell in love with the area. Now that I am older, I am realizing living right near the coast, is a bad idea due to whatever disastrous event that may take place, so really, I am not sure. We haven't thoroughly discussed it, but I was thinking somewhere north, slightly south of the border I guess.

The further north you go the cheaper the homes. Also the scarcer the jobs, especially decent paying jobs. Also same is true for the most part as you get away from the coast.....not to mention the weather.
