I visited the scenic Rainy Buttes and got some Rainy Buttes Silicified Wood from the landowner. I wont be wasting it on flintknapping, this material is hard to come by.
Paleo Indians just loved this stuff, second to KRF.
Have you found any artifacts made of this material??

i think this could be a large graver made of rainy butte?

Nice big ol' flake, the knapper hit that one pretty hard as evident by the very large eraillure scar and percussion bulb...

It looks to be Rainy Buttes. I don't know if it was used as a graver though. It's a pretty cool artifact, even if it is just a big flake....
