Saved another one from a dirt nap! A buddy I work with says "My wife lost her wedding ring while she was riding her horse". I thought no way I'm going to find that. Those babies cover some serious ground. We went to the farm where she lost it and covered the pasture...nothing. But the ground was pretty clean so I figured if I could just swing over it I had a chance. It was white gold with diamonds. I went back to the barn were you would be using you hands a lot getting on and off and there were hundreds of lead covered nail heads from the tin roof tear off that rang up as 12-13 on the V3i. I thought no way because I knew the ring was close to that. 3 1/2 hours later, I got a 10-11 reading that was in the high grass. Bingo! I never would have thought it was possible with all those close signals.
It was like winning the lottery!

Fantastic! I love stories like that! Honorable Mention nomination from me, too!

Holy Shmidt, nice recovery! She looks super happy for sure. Great job picking out that ring from among all those lead covered nails. :occasion14:

One more Honorable Mention here!

Thanks for representing the good parts of being a detectorist!

By the way, which detector were you using?

I was using my Whites V3i. I like the consistent VDI's when your looking for something that you know where it should ring up as. The Etrac doesn't work well for surface finds. It's really odd that way.

Thanks a bunch for the great comments! I Iove finding rings for people. The look on their face is something money can't buy!
