AWESOME First real detector!

Been looking at the GTI 2500 for a couple weeks now. Just happen to find one for sale for an awesome price! Gonna meet him tomorrow and buy my first REAL detector, all this for...wait for it....wait for it.....Nine Hundred fifty dollars!!!!!

Looks like a good deal with all those coils !! Looks like an older unit, though, with the white round coil. I'd ask how old the machine is, a friend of mine bought one used and it acted strange so he sent it back to Garrett and they found the white round coil had cracks he couldn't see. He bought a new coil and it works fine. He paid $500 with one coil, so with all those other coils it seems you're doing good although I have never seen anybody actually using the big "cache finder". Also don't forget that the included DD coils do not provide the imaging feature which the round coils have.

what are the differences between the older and newer models? Just age?

My friend who bought the used one said the only difference is age. I think they have been making the 2500 for twelve years now. My friend loves his even though it is an older machine.

Garrets 2500 & i500 are very good detectors ... I like them better than my AT Pro..

can't beat that deal, even of you had to get some repairs done, you would still be making out. From what I understand, there is a learning curve with that machine, so just be patient, you'll find some deep stuff with that rig!
