Autograph in a 1869 book ID ?

Probably a long shot , but could this say S . L . CLEMENS (aka Mark Twain ) I just wanted to get some opinions - Thanks for looking .

Mark Twain did write the book The Innocents Abroad, and he did, quite often sign his name sideways (who knows about genius). That said, I know absolutely nothing about signatures, but here is the book and the one of the signatures.
