[No gold in NY]

Found this coin on Million Dollar Beach Lake George, NY. Seems to be a long way from home. Tried looking it up and they only seem to refer to "rounds". Anyone familiar with these. Thanks

It is the only 12-sided coin of its size in the southern hemisphere. It was introduced in 1969 to replace the round fifty-cent coin issued in 1966.
