A 1959 Harley Davidson Tele-Glide blue motorcycle with 12,303 miles is one of the classic vehicles for sale at the state vehicle auction Monday in Grantville, Dauphin County.
In all, 500 vehicles will be sold at the auction at Manheim Auto Auctions, 488 Firehouse Road, Grantville, starting at 10 a.m. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and ends at noon. The vehicles can be seen from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sunday.
"This vehicle auction is a classic car-lovers dream. In addition to the quality vehicles always present at our auctions, we will be offering a nice selection of classic automobiles and motorcycles. This will definitely be one of our most unique vehicle auctions," General Services Secretary Sheri Phillips said in a Jan. 31 Department of General Services press release.
Proceeds are given to the state. Cash, money orders, cashier's checks, certified checks and bank checks are accepted.
As of 12:56 p.m. Thursday, 466 vehicles were up for auction on the website at www.manheim.com/publicauctions. Vehicles are sold as is and all sales are final.
Jerry Enders, owner of Jerry's Classic Cars and Collectibles Museum, Pottsville, said he will attend the auction.
"I think it's going to be a very interesting sale," he said.
Enders said there are many classic cars for sale that buyers might be interested in. One of them is a white 1962 Chevrolet Impala Convertible with 43,158 miles on it.
"It's a very desirable car for any collector," he said.
The 1968 Amc Amx 390 is also another car to possibly think about buying. It's a two-door hard top with a 390 motor, Enders said.
Some of the other classic vehicles include a red 1967 Datsun 1600 with an odometer of 56,162 and a 1959 two-door K-Midget King midget car with 5,975 miles.
A black and white 1969 Chevy Camero SS with 85,526 miles is also for sale.
Enders said the car is "a true 69 Chevy Camero SS big block car with 396 V8 and muncy 4-speed."
A boat from 1956 and even newer vehicles are also for sale.
