Well, a war nickel anyway. I have pounded this area before but the AT is finding deeper stuff.
1943 P war nickel
1946 Jefferson
Headstamps
Shells
Bullets
Musket ball
A possible hem weight.
And these button type thingys that I am thinking were from suspenders or overalls.
Both have BIG BUCK-EYE on them.
My wife thinks they were from shoes.
What do you think.
Age?

After doing some research, the woods I hunt was always rumored to be a hunting club in the 1920s. That is obvious due to the amount of head stamps and bullets found in this area. I was wondering if the Big Buck-Eye was an award for a dear harvest in Ohio. ODNR as well as a club that was called Buckey Big Buck club keep records of large dear harvested. Maybe these were cuff links or something that the individual lost?

war nickels are a silver plus and you just missed out on the 46 Jefferson. great job. I'd go with suspenders
