Back home this morning in the back yard. I got grape's, The bug's are getting ready to call it quits and the flowers are withering. This has been one of the most crazy Summers I've ever seen in Colorado. Fires and Floods like never before. Good to be home and see the start of Fall bring on Winter and cover up this past year. Lots of a folks here on the front range need your thoughts and prayers. I'm on a hill and away from all the ditches, creeks and streams. Hard to believe what all went on around me a week ago. I'd never in 23 years living here seen it rain like it did that night. I sure hope this sunny morning helps some folks here see a little peace on this day.

We've been keepin up with that from up here in the mountains. It's a bad deal for even one person to lose their life, but at least the fatalities have been low (so far). One thing I noticed when I moved up here from the plains is that usually there's only one way to get in and out of a lot of places in the mountains, and that's been workin against the folks over there. At least it looks like no rain in the forecast, but pretty soon it'll be snow and that will complicate things on the front range even more. Maybe it'll come a little later this year for their sake. Take care!

It is going to be a big issue in the one way in and out of town roads. Lyons is just waisted in almost all their municipal services. Water, sewer services all but gone. There's talk of moving all the residence of Lyons out for as long as 6 months to rebuild all the damage. I called a fellow in Estes Park and they have now only two ways out of town now. Hwy 72 and Trail Ridge over the west of the park and that will be closed come winter. Hwy 34 to Loveland and Hwy 7 out of Longmont-Boulder are gone. Unlike the Big Thompson back in 76? This storm was wide spread from Clear Creek to the Cache la Poudre river. I live by Coal Creek and it was unreal to see how high it got. No more hicking and biking trail left for me there. Not sure I'll live long enough to see a strom like this again as they say it happens ever 100 years or so, but who knows. Glade I picked a home on high ground.
