Assateague Island State Park??????????

Hi,
I am in Maryland going to visit the state park with my wife and daughter tomorrow, anyone know if I am allowed to Metal Detect there

When the wife & I were down there we went to the beach to use detector. Posted way down at the bottom of the rules for beach area, said--no metal detectors--dissapointing--that was 2 yrs. ago

I found on the DNR site said metal detectors can be used from October to Memorial Day. I am going to ask the Park Ranger when I get there will let you know what they say!

Okay everyone, I spoke to the Park Ranger @ Assateague State Park, Maryland, beach areas only! You can detect from the base of the sand dunes (not on the sand dunes) to the beach water front, (not in the water) and you can only do it from Labor Day to the day before Memorial Day! This was from the Park Office, and it is also listed on their website as well!
