Asking Permission

My wife of almost 46 years loves to hunt for those "pointy obsidian rocks". I have to drag her back to the truck at the end of the day!! She just doesn't want to quit.

I bought her a White's for her birthday one year and almost wore it wrapped around my neck!! She does like to detect the Oregon Trail over in Nevada though.....I guess I'll keep 'er!!:icon_thumright:

Let's just say my wife lets me get away with murder. And yes I do take advantage sometimes. If the the table where turned I wouldn't be able to let me get away with it. Just being honest, Mike

My gf works a lot.
I'm retired. I try to let her know, overnight/ out of town trips- a week or more.
Locally- 1 to 3 days is her notice. To date she is 89.6 percent good with it.
Recently acquired a Fisher F2= We hunt together soon.
Sort of excited! Almost.

WOW, I envy some of u guys.

Last Christmas I bought the gal I had been dating for awhile an Ace 250, well she still has it, after I left her.

I don't ask for permission... I ask my wife if there is anything going on as far as plans for a weekend morning, or a honey-do list, or whatever. If she/we don't have plans, then its generally implied that I want to go beep. Sometimes I hunt after work before I get home, she is ok with that, as long as I am home for dinner, generally 6pm

My gf always asks why I am home and not out detecting. Never once has she complained about me spending too much time doing what I love. She was a single parent just like I was and figures all the sacrifices we made for our children should entitle us both to spend our " empty nest " time as we want.
